TAWAU: A local man was arrested by police in the early hours of Tuesday in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred at Batu 4 settlement along Jalan Apas.
According to OCPD ACP Jasmin Hussin, the incident took place near the hospital about 7.15 pm on Monday. The victim, a foreigner in his 20s, was reportedly stabbed in his right elbow by an unknown assailant.
Acting on a report received, a team from the district Criminal Investigation Division arrested a 20-year-old suspect around 2.30 am on Tuesday.
“The suspect has been taken into custody for further investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code,” Jasmin explained. – James Leong
