SSB takes swift action on poor condition of the gymnastic hall

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Sports Board (SSB) takes seriously the viral video on social media showing the poor condition of the gymnastics hall at the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex.
In this regard, the board in a statement said that an initial investigation was conducted immediately upon detection of the matter, and corrective actions have been and are being taken to address the issues raised.
The management does not compromise on any matter that may affect the safety, comfort and interests of users of sports facilities, said the statement.
The board does not take any public complaints lightly and rejects any perception that the issue has been neglected.
All actions taken are based on established procedures, safety priorities and approved financial allocations.
In this context, improvement efforts also involve planning through special allocations to ensure facilities are maintained at the appropriate standard, it said.
The board also emphasised that the viral video does not reflect the full and actual situation, nor the ongoing efforts and commitment of the management in maintaining sports facilities in the state, said the statement.
The safety and welfare of users remain the top priority, it added.
Nevertheless, the board welcomed factual and responsible feedback from the public for the purpose of continuous improvement, it said.
