Rasa Ria forms strategic partnership to promote Kaamatan

TUARAN: Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort is collaborating with the Tuaran’s Unduk Ngadau and Randawi Tavantang committees to host this year’s Kaamatan Festival.
This strategic partnership aims to deepen cultural appreciation and enhance Tuaran’s appeal as a heritage and sustainable tourism destination.
The Unduk Ngadau honours the legend of huminodun, while the Randawi Tavantang represents the community spirit of Tuaran.
The collaboration began with a preliminary registration exercise, where 25 Unduk Ngadau and nine Randawi Tavantang hopefuls from Tuaran, Tamparuli and Kiulu turned up for official registration.
“We are truly grateful for the support given by Rasa Ria,” said Tamparuli Assistant District Officer and coordinator Hannevy W. Harry.
“We hope this marks the beginning of a successful collaboration between the Tuaran UNK/RTK committee and this hospitality brand,” she said.
“We are committed to supporting the Tuaran community in its socio-cultural endeavours,” said Rasa Ria general manager Fiona Hagan.
“We are honoured to support the young ambassadors who carry the torch of our heritage, ensuring that the people and culture of Tuaran continue to thrive in the modern world,” she added.
With this year’s theme, ‘Kaamatan: Harvesting Unity, Celebrating Harmony’, the collaboration coincides with Visit Malaysia 2026.
It serves as a benchmark for how the private sector and cultural organisations can work together to preserve the intangible heritage of the local community.
