Preliminary inspections of the body and the surrounding area revealed no visible injuries, signs of a struggle, or any indication of criminal elements, according to acting OCPD Supt Wilynton Enchana Watt.
“The body has been sent to the Tawau Hospital Forensic Department for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death,” he said.
He added that the case has been classified as a Sudden Death Report (SDR), and further investigations are ongoing.

In a separate incident in Lahad Datu, an unoccupied house at Taman Aman Jaya, Jalan Silam caught fire Sunday evening.
The Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station was alerted at 5.15 pm and immediately despatched a fire engine with 10 personnel to the scene. The fire involved a 20×65-foot concrete structure, with an estimated 40 percent damage concentrated on the lower-level living room.
Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control by 5.40 pm using one line with two water jets spanning 200 feet, drawing water from the engine and a nearby hydrant. This prevented the flames from spreading to the rest of the house.
