TAWAU: A wooden house in Kampung Pangkalan Asli Merotai, Tawau, was completely razed in a fire on Wednesday.
The State Fire and Rescue Department’s Operations Centre received a call at 11.09 pm via the NG999 emergency line.
Upon receiving the alert, 13 personnel from the Tawau Fire and Rescue Station, along with four auxiliary firefighters from the Merotai Volunteer Fire Unit, were despatched to the scene, located 31 kilometres from the station.
The fire engine arrived at 11.25 pm. Operations Commander, PBK I Mohd Yahya Abd Fattah, reported that a wooden house was destroyed in the incident.
Firefighters extinguished the remaining embers using one hose line with water sourced from the fire engine. The fire was contained at 11.50 pm.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the case. The operation concluded at 12.13 am on Thursday. – James Leong
