LDP Sandakan provides essential supplies to Kampung Bahagia fire victims

SANDAKAN: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Sandakan delivered essential daily supplies to a distribution centre for fire victims from Kampung Bahagia.
Vice president Robert Chong Thien Ming together with several division chairmen handed over items including towels, sarongs, shampoo, shower cream, instant noodles, toothpaste, and prayer mats to help meet the immediate needs of those affected.
Chong expressed his appreciation to LDP Supreme Council members and friends for their generous contributions, which enabled the purchase of these necessities. Around 20 party members were present at the centre to assist with the distribution.
During his visit, Chong spoke with the victims and learned that many are still searching for temporary accommodation. He also noted that several children have yet to return to school, having lost their belongings in the fire.
Chong further extended his gratitude to the government for its swift response in addressing the welfare and housing arrangements for the affected families. He highlighted the strong spirit of solidarity among Sabahans, noting that contributions have continued to pour in to support the victims.
“This reflects the compassion and unity of our community whenever disaster strikes,” he said, adding that public awareness and commitment to humanitarian efforts should continue to be strengthened. – James Leong
