KOTA KINABALU: The State Government is engaging the Ministry of Finance (MoF) Malaysia and relevant federal agencies to improve the implementation of the targeted diesel subsidy programme in Sabah, which took effect this month.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said a follow-up meeting involving State Government agencies, MoF Malaysia and relevant federal agencies will be held on July 17.
It will be chaired by the Sabah State Secretary Datuk Zainudin Aman.
“The expansion of the targeted diesel subsidy programme to Sabah, which began on July 1, was also discussed at the State Cabinet meeting on July 13,” he said.
He said the State Government takes seriously the concerns raised by various stakeholders.
“In this regard, MoF Malaysia and the relevant agencies have been instructed to further examine the issues.
“They will also consider appropriate measures to address the concerns of those affected,” he said.
