SANDAKAN: The Sabah Lands and Surveys Department will hold the NIC Programme — Correction of Name and Identity Card Number on Land Titles — in Sandakan from Sept 26 to 27.
The two-day programme, organised by the department, will run from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm at Sandakan Community Hall. It is free of charge.
Corrections can be completed on the same day, subject to complete and valid documents.
For Native/Field Register (NT/FR) titles, the programme covers Sandakan, Kinabatangan and Beluran districts. Lease titles are open to landowners throughout Sabah.
Those attending must bring the original and a copy of their land title and identity card. The person bringing the documents must be the registered landowner.
The department said the exercise aims to produce more accurate land records and reduce complications involving inheritance claims, sale and purchase transactions, and banking matters.
