KOTA KINABALU: More than 100 graduates from diploma, bachelor, master and PhD programmes received their scrolls at the convocation ceremony of Jesselton University College (JUC).
Board of Governors representative Datin Dr Noor Hamizah Hanifah praised the graduates for their perseverance in becoming industry-ready talents for Sabah and beyond.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Vincent Oh Kim Seng, who officiated the ceremony, was conferred a Professorship in Management in recognition of his more than 20 years of contributions to academic leadership, research and corporate training.
Associate Professor Dr Stanley Tulis Missun, JUC’s brand ambassador since 2022, received the title of Associate Professor in Education for his impact in education, counselling, international community engagement and scholarly work.
Vincent’s research covers consumer behaviour, digital marketing, mindfulness and workplace well-being, backed by national research grants and publications in leading journals. Stanley’s work focuses on education, counselling, mental health, well-being and digital transformation in learning.
His contributions include postgraduate supervision, publications and initiatives that integrate technology with education. His international recognition further strengthens the academic community and enriches student development.
The conferment of these titles was witnessed by the Board of Governors along with past and present leaders, including former vice chancellor Prof Dr Siti Aishah Berhan.
In his closing address, board member Datuk Dr Eddy Yusrizal Sukardi reminded graduates that the convocation marks not an end but a beginning, as they step into the world as ambassadors of JUC’s values and excellence.
The ceremony not only celebrated the achievements of the graduates but also reflected JUC’s growing stature as a centre of higher learning in Sabah, combining academic excellence, professional recognition and community engagement. – Wu Vuide
