Man who threatened parents with machete arrested in Tawau

TAWAU: A 30-year-old man, who allegedly ran amok and threatened to kill his parents with a machete two months ago, was finally arrested on Tuesday.
The suspect had reportedly terrorized his parents during the January 15 incident but was only apprehended this week.
Tawau OCPD ACP Jasmin Hussin confirmed the arrest, stating that the man was detained at 12:30 p.m. in Kampung Serudong Baru, Jalan Quoin Hill.
“Initial investigations revealed that the suspect had brandished a machete at his parents and threatened to kill them,” Jasmin said.
The man, who has a prior arrest record for drug-related offences, is now being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation. – James Leong
