SANDAKAN: Jetama Water Sdn Bhd chairwoman Liau Fui Fui, contributed RM7,000 to SRK Sung Siew’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) to replace the outdated public address (PA) system in the school’s multipurpose hall.
The existing setup, reliant on portable speakers, has proven insufficient for the hall’s size and technical demands, particularly during official ceremonies, school programmes, and events involving over 900 students.
The contribution by Liau who is Tanjong Papat Assemblyman Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung’s secretary, received his backing.
The contribution aims to modernize the audio infrastructure, ensuring clearer sound delivery and smoother execution of assemblies, student performances, and co-curricular activities.
Liau emphasized that quality education hinges not only on academic content but also on supportive environments and robust facilities.
“This upgrade will foster a more dynamic atmosphere for learning and community engagement, encouraging greater student participation and school spirit,” she stated.
School authorities hailed the contribution as a testament to grassroots-responsive leadership, underscoring Liau’s commitment to addressing community needs.
Meanwhile, Poon visited the family’s whose house at Jambatan 16 Kampung Sim-Sim was damaged by strong wind on Thursday afternoon.
Poon together with his secretary and Jetama Water Sdn Bhd chairman Liau Fui Fui, inspected the extent of the damage to the house. They also engaged directly with the affected family.
To expedite recovery efforts, both Poon and Liau pledged immediate provisions of repair materials to ensure swift restoration and occupant safety.
“The welfare and safety of the people remain our utmost priority. We are committed to assisting residents affected by such disasters,” stated Poon, underscoring his team’s dedication to grassroots support.
