TAWAU: A 24-year-old female trainee teacher died in a road accident in Bandar Sri Indah on Friday.
Operations Commander from the Tawau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), PBK I Zougrana Konin, reported that the accident involved a Perodua Kenari that had skidded off the road on its own.
BBP Tawau received an emergency call via MERS 999 at 12.26 pm and arrived at the scene at 12.45 pm. The distance from the station to the incident location is 17 kilometres.
Upon the arrival of the firemen, consisting of six personnel, the Ministry of Health (KKM) team with four personnel had already managed to extricate the victim. However, the victim was pronounced dead by KKM, and her body was handed over to the police for further action.
The firemen only conducted monitoring to ensure no other hazards remained at the scene and concluded their task at 1.22 pm. Three policemen were present to assist in the operation. – James Leong
