SANDAKAN: The Water Department will implement a temporary road closure in the Bandar Prima area to facilitate demolition, excavation, and water pipe leakage repair works.
The temporary closure is necessary to ensure the safety of motorists and the public, as the repair works involve the operation of heavy machinery within the affected area, Sandakan Division Water Engineer Ts. Nelley Juee Phillip disclosed on July 21.
“To minimise traffic disruption, a temporary traffic management plan will be implemented throughout the duration of the works. Road users are advised to follow all traffic signs and the directions of on-site personnel, and to plan their journeys in advance to avoid unnecessary delays,” she added.
According to Nelley, the repair works are scheduled to commence on 21 July 2026 (Tuesday) and continue until 29 July 2026 (Wednesday).
The Water Department appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this period. Any inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted, and the public’s understanding is greatly appreciated as these essential works are carried out to ensure the continued reliability and safety of the water supply infrastructure. – James Leong
