SANDAKAN: The SJK(C) Yuk Choi’s School Board and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) held their inaugural joint dialogue session recently to discuss strategies for improving the school’s overall performance and addressing key issues.
The meeting, which took place at the school’s meeting room, was chaired by School Board Chairman Liew Ket Syn and PTA Chairman Chan Boon Thian. Also present was Headmistress Lee Wai Han.
The two-hour session provided a platform for both entities to engage in productive discussions on various matters, including school performance, student activities, operational challenges, and future development plans.
“This dialogue marks a significant milestone in fostering closer collaboration between the Board and the PTA. We had a fruitful exchange of views and gained a better mutual understanding regarding the school’s issues and achievements,” said Chan Boon Thian, who led the PTA committee during the session.
During the meeting, Chan also presented a comprehensive three-year “report card” highlighting the PTA’s accomplishments and progress. He expressed appreciation to Headmistress Lee Wai Han and the assistant headmasters for their support in preparing the reports for the School Board.
Both parties expressed optimism about strengthening cooperation within the PTA’s jurisdiction and capabilities, with a shared commitment to the betterment the school’s over 500 students.
