SANDAKAN: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) here arrested a senior officer of a State Government agency for allegedly submitting two documents containing false information to support claims totalling about RM15,000.
The woman, in her 30s, was arrested at about 10.00am on Tuesday after appearing at the MACC office to give a statement.
Initial investigations found that she allegedly submitted the documents for meeting expenses and expenses related to an official working visit by a senior officer of a ministry.
The alleged offences are believed to have taken place between 2023 and 2024.
Sabah MACC director Datuk Mohd Fuad Bee Basrah confirmed the arrest and said the case was being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
The suspect is expected to be charged at the Sandakan Session Court (Corruption) on October 8, 2026. – James Leong
