SANDAKAN: The damaged handrail at the pedestrian bridge connecting the Sim Sim playground jogging track to the main road was promptly repaired following concerns raised by the public.
The initiative was spearheaded by Tanjong Papat Assemblyman Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung as part of his commitment to ensuring community safety.
The deteriorated handrail, which posed a risk to pedestrians, particularly children and elderly joggers, has now been replaced with a sturdy new structure. This upgrade aims to provide a safer crossing for all users of the popular pathway.
“Public safety is our top priority, and maintaining infrastructure is key to protecting our community. I appreciate the residents’ vigilance in reporting such issues. Through collaboration, we can continue to improve Tanjong Papat for everyone,” Poon added.
Residents are encouraged to report any additional public facility concerns requiring maintenance or upgrades. – James Leong
